2012 Feb 13: Thailand (& Laos & Burma) Day 9

Today we hired a taxi again and went north to the top of Thailand.

The first stop was at the hot springs:
From there we went to the White Temple:

Next was the ancient Pa Sak Temple:

From there we went to the Golden Triangle. Once known for its opium, the Golden Triangle joins the countries of Thailand, Laos and Myanmar (Burma):

We boarded a motor boat and went across the Mekong river to Laos:

I was very tempted to buy a bottle of snake whisky to bring on the fishing trip:

Crossing back into Thailand, we came to the viewing point of the Golden Triangle:

Here's a view of Myanmar (Burma):

Then we crossed the border into Myanmar (Burma):

A view of the market in Burma (see if you can find Judy):

She's not impressed with the market:

Then back to the hotel, and a restaurant for a beer and dinner:

All and all, another good day in Thailand, Laos and Myanmar.

  1. John and I are just LOVING following your trip. The White Temple is amazing--and so are you two for doing everything wherever you go and doing it with such ease--or so it seems. Gail
